Kukkaketohuivi / Wild flowers shawl

Tämä huivi on neulottu Katya Gorbachevan Wild Flowers -ohjeella, joka on julkaistu kirjassa 52 x villahuivit. Lankana on Hobbiin Twirls Pastello -puuvillakerä ja puikot 3.5 mm. Tein huivistani pidemmän, koska käytin suositusta ohuempaa fingering-vahvuista lankaa. Huivi neulottiin putkena, joka leikattiin auki siten että reunoihin jäi hapsut.

This shawl is knitted with the Wild Flowers pattern by Katya Gorbacheva. It is published in the 52 Weeks of Shawls book. I used thinner yarn than recommended, Twirls Pastello cotton gradient yarn by Hobbii, so I added stitches to the length to make my version longer. This took a while to finish as I started to knit in May. You had to concentrate on charts pretty much all the time, but the result in the end is quite unique. It is steeked in the end so that fringe, or tassels in my case, forms to the seam where the knit is cut open.

 

Farkut ja kengät on valmisvaatteita, mutta myssy, villapaita ja kämmekkäät on kaikki omatekoisia neulomuksia.

Jeans and shoes are ready-to-wear, but the sweater, hat and mitts are all DIY makes.

Mohairtoppi / Muguet top

Tämä neuletoppi on neulottu GentleFrenchie-suunnittelijan Muguet-ohjeella pari kuukautta sitten. Tarjouduin testaamaan ohjetta, koska topin tyyli on yhdisteltävissä niin monen hameen kanssa. Käytin paidan alaosaan lilaa Viking Baby Ull -merinolankaa ja hihoissa pääosassa on mohairlanka, joka tekee yläosasta läpikuultavan. Minulla oli varastossani Alize Kid Mohairia, jota kului lähes kokonainen 500 metrin kerä. Merinoa kului noin 1.1 kerää. Puikkokoko 4.5 mm.

This sweater is a test-knit of the Muguet top by GentleFrenchie. I finished it already couple of months ago. My top is test of the size XL, which was closest for my bust size in this pattern, and I used about 1.1 skeins of Viking Baby Ull yarn for the bottom half. A strand of mohair runs through the whole top and makes the sleeves so airy and translucent. The mohair used here is Alize Kid Mohair and I used pretty much a full 500 meter skein of mohair yarn here. Needle size in my case 4.5 mm, but the recommended starting point in the pattern is 5 mm.

 

Hame on äidin ompelema, sillä tilasin häneltä fiftarihameen teininä ja kengät on valmisvaate.

The floral 1950s style skirt is mom-made as I requested one as a teenager for some function. Shoes are ready-to-wear.

Pastellipipo / Unicorny hat

Tämä myssy on toinen versio Beata Jezekin Scrappy Marl -ilmaisohjepiposta. Neuloin kahdella eri langalla yhtä aikaa, mikä sai aikaan elävän pinnan. Puikkokoko 4 mm.

This beanie is another version of the Scrappy Marl pattern that is a free pattern by Beata Jezek. I marled two yarns together, which makes interesting colour and texture. Needles 4 mm.

Moniväripipo / Scrappy marled hat

 

Tämä myssy on neulottu Beata Jezekin Scrappy Marl -ohjeella, joka löytyy ilmaiseksi suunnittelijan lankamerkin sivuilta. Käytin erilaisia sukkalankojen jämiä ja 4 mm puikkoja.

This beanie is knitted with free Scrappy Marl pattern that is by Beata Jezek. I used various socks yarns and 4 mm circular needle.

Villin Pohjolan villatakki / Steeked wool coatigan

Tämä neuletakki on muunnelma Linka Neumannin Hopi-kaarrokeneulepaidasta, joka löytyy Norjalaisia villapaitoja 2 -kirjasta. Steekkasin eli leikkasin sen auki neuletakiksi, jotta paksun villaneuleen tuomaa lämpöä on helpompi säädellä. Kuviolliset puunapit on tilatty Etsystä jostain brittikaupasta ja ne saapuivat kätevästi ja edullisesti kirjekuoressa. Sinertävät langat ovat Istexin Lettlopia, vihreä lanka on Novita Jokea sekä vihertävä ja violetti lanka on Novita Usvaa. Näiden suomalaislankojen valmistus on lopetettu ja olin ostanut ne jostain marketin alekorista muutama vuosi sitten. En ollut varma vihreiden lankojen riittävyydestä, joten raidoitin niitä saadakseni ne kattamaan koko paidan.

This cardigan is a steeked version of the Hopi yoke sweater by Linka Neumann. The yarns are thick Icelandic Lettlopi wool and Finnish yarns, so I steeked the sweater into a cardigan to make it more versatile and ventilated. For taking this picture I biked 30 minutes and hiked 15 minutes and felt sweaty at this very moment, so the option to open the knit to a cardigan makes it more versatile to use. It also can be used as a coat in these imbetween seasons. The decorative wood buttons are from a British Etsy webstore, and if and when I wash the cardi, I better take the buttons out, so that the wood won't get damaged. I wasn't sure how long the green yarns, that I had in my stash will last, so I striped them on the body, which actually makes the main colour quite lively.

Pilkullista / Polkadotty

Pilkullinen viskoosihaalari on kirpparilta, paita ja laukku valmisvaatteita ja neonkeltaiset kierrätysmateriaaleista valmistetuiksi mainitut kengät kesätorilta alle kahdella kympillä.

The polkadotty dungarees are thrifted and stripey shirt and handbag are ready-to-wear. Neon shoes are from summer street market for under 20 euros and they are mentioned to be made of recycled materials.

Pilkku- ja palloprinttejä Marple-sarjan jaksosta Kuoleman sininen kukka sekä sarjoista The Hour, Syyttömyyden taakka ja Grantchester. Keskellä 1940-luvun neuletyyliä pilkullisine yksityiskohtineen Ravelrystä.

The dotty dresses and blouses are from The Blue Geranium that is an episode in Agatha Christie' Marple, and from the series The Hour, Ordeal by Innosence and Grantchester. At the center a picture of a 1940s sweater with polka dot details from Ravelry.

Palmikkopipo / Bobble beanie

Tämä lahjapipo on neulottu Vattuniemi-ohjeella, joka on Sari Nordlundin Neulematkalla-kirjasta. Lankana on Novita Unelma, jota minulla oli iso kerä ja jonka sain lähes kulutettua loppuun tässä myssyssä. Neulepuikot 4 mm, mutta käytin virkkuukoukkua palleroihin.

This beanie is made with Vattuniemi pattern that is by Sari Nordlund. I used yarn called Novita Unelma and 4 mm needles and crochet hook for the bobbles as crocheting bobbles is faster and gives firmer result. This beanie is for the Xmas gift stash too.
