Pitsibaskeri / Community gardens beret

Tämä lahjapinoon päätyvä baskeri on neulottu Melissa LaBarren Community Gardens -ilmaisohjeella. Lankoina on kaksi hieman eriväristä villasekoitelankaa yhdessä: House Kuvio ja House Pörrö. Puikkokokoina 4 mm ja 4.5 mm.

This beret for the gift-pile is knitted with Community Gardens pattern, which is a free pattern by Melissa LaBarre. I marled two blue-tone yarns together, House Kuvio and House Pörrö, to make a thicker material suitable for this pattern. Knitting needle sizes were 4 mm and 4.5 mm.

Syyspaikkausta / Mending for fall

Tästä alunperin kirppikseltä ostetusta tikkitakista oli rikkoutunut vetoketju, joten vaihdoin tilalle uuden turkoosin vetskarin. Myös se on kirpparilta ostettu ja oli sentin pari liian pitkä ja kovin eri värinen, mutta toimii kuitenkin. Myös matkamuistohattu oli korjaamisen tarpeessa. Sen rusetti ja koristenauha olivat irtoamassa. Koristeita tarkastellessa selvisi, että ne on alunperin pääosin liimattu paikoilleen ja liima oli hapertunut. Käytin neulaa ja ompelulankaa hatun koristeiden uudelleen kiinnittämiseen.

This thrifted coat has been in use for many years and the zipper had broken. I fixed it by replacing it to a contrast colour zipper, that is also bought from a second hand shop. It is not the best sewing job ever, because it was hard to get the thick layers of the coat with all its buttons through the sewing machine. But the new zipper works now. I also had to mend the hat. The bow and ribbons of the hat had begun to fall apart, as they were originally just mostly just glued in place. I secured them with a thread and a needle and some old-fashioned hand sewing.

Vintage-kamera on kirpputorilta ostettu reliikki. Mekko ja neuletakki ovat omatekoisia. 

This vintage camera was bought from a second hand shop to work as a prop and interior décor. The dress and cardi are DIY makes.

Lapaset laineilla / Wave mittens

Nämä lahjapinoon päätyvät lapaset on neulottu Elliott Singerin Wave mittens -ohjetta muokaten. Käytin ohjetta paksumpia lankoja ja lisäsin muun muassa aukot puhelimen pökkimiselle. Lankoina on jämälankoja sinisen, valkoisen ja harmaan sävyissä. Puikkokokona 4 mm.

These mittens, made to be gifted, are a modification of Wave mittens by Elliott Singer. I used thicker yarns, so I narrowed the chart. And I added phone-poking holes. Yarns are various scrap yarns and knitting needle size was 4 mm.
