Kukkaneule helmikoristein / Tulip sweater with beads

Tämä neulepaita on tehty Melody Hoffmannin Tulip-ohjetta muokaten. Tein ohjeella muutama vuosi sitten sinisen neuleen, joka on sopivan simppeli ja silti vähän fiini piparkakkureunuksisine helmoineen. Tämän paidan neuloin kahdella eri värillä Drops Fiesta-sukkalankaa, josta vaaleanpunertavaa lankaa pidin yhdessä Novitan Tuuli-mohairsekoitelangan kanssa. Lopuksi ompelin neulaa ja mohairlankaa käyttäen päälle kasan kukan muotoisia muovihelmiä, joita olin ostanut sadan kappaleen pussin askarteluliikkeestä. Koska en tiedä miten helmet reagoivat käytössä, lisäsin se jälkikäteen, jotta ne voi myös poistaa, jos ne vaikka alkavat halkeilla tai hilseillä pesussa. Puikkokokoina 4 mm ja 5 mm.

This sweater is knitted with Tulip pattern that is designed by Melody Hoffmann. I made a pullover with the pattern few years ago, and it's a nice simple staple garment, that has a fun scalloped detail at the hem. This time I knitted a multicolour version with two shades of Drops Fiesta yarn. The pink yarn was held together with Novita Tuuli mohair-blend yarn. In the end I stitched to the front of the sweater a bunch of flower-shaped beads in a daisy chain type of configuration. I sprinkled them on top with yarn and mohair thread, so that they can be taken off, if they get damaged in the wash. Knitting needle sizes used for this sweater were 4 mm and 5 mm.

Seilorineule / Cabinmates sweater

Tämä neulepaita on tehty Caitlin Hunterin Cabinmates -neuleohjeella, jota olin testineulomassa kesällä ennen sen virallista julkaisua, joka tapahtuu nyt elokuussa. Käyttämäni tummansininen lanka on Drops Karismaa ja oranssit kerät kahta eri sävyä Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk -lankaa, joita neuloin kaksi lankaa kerrallaan. Puikkokokoina 3.5 mm joustinneuleeseen ja 4 mm paitaosioon.

This sweater is knitted with Cabinmates pattern that is designed by Caitlin Hunter. I was preview knitting it in the summer before it's publication, that is taking place now in August. It was fun to try out this cute pattern and see the sailor motifs appear in the knitting. I decided to make my sailors ginger.  The blue yarn is Drops Karisma, and the terracotta orange yarns are two shades of Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk held together two strands at a time. Knitting needle sizes were 3.5 mm and 4 mm.

Mamselli-tilkkutoppi / Camisole from scraps

Tämä toppi on ommeltu jämäkankaista Mamselli-tilkkutopin ohjeella Kaisa Turtiasen Kaisan ihanuuskirja -ompeluopuksesta. Kankaina on niin jäännösviskoosia näistä housuista kuin muista vastaavista ompeluksista, sekä hieman siksak-kuvioista kitenge-puuvillaprinttiä ja muita ohuehkoja puuvillakankaita. Olkaimet on lahjanauhaksi pakkauksessaan määritellystä kukkanauhasta. Se toivottavasti kestää pesua, vaikkei olekkaan ompelukäyttöön tarkoitettua materiaalia.

This top is sewn with a pattern called Mamselli by Kaisa Turtiainen from a new Finnish sewing book. I used scrap fabric in viscose and cotton. The zig-zag print is Tanzanian kitenge cotton and florals are viscose. Backside is bit more scrappy, though this top is reversible. Shoulder straps are from a package labeled as gift-wrapping ribbon, so it's nor strictly meant for sewing and may deliver surprises in the wash.
