on Madame tricot Paris'n Cashmere Goldia ja turkoosi akryyli on Novita
Ipanaa. Puikkokoko 4 mm. I improvised this beanie from two stash yarns that I held together for clear-colour and marled stripes. The dark blue yarn is Cashmere Gold and the teal is discontinued yarn called Ipana. I used 4 mm needles. |

| Nojatuolimatkallani maailman ympäri lapasia neuloen vastaan tuli kirjastossa saksalaisia ohjeita sisältänyt Eva Maria Lesznerin kirja Kirjokintaita ja -myssyjä 1980-luvulta. Valitsin lasten ohjeen, jossa on koristeornamentiikasta innoituksensa saanut perinteinen kuvio. Käyttämäni langat on Novitan Nallea ja puikkokoko 2.75 mm. I have been knitting mitten with patterns from different countries for a year or two, and recently I came across a translated German pattern book in the library. The original publication is Handschuhe, Mützen und Schals farbig gestrickt. I chose a pair for kids and added a flag cuff. Needle size here 2.75 mm and yarns are sock yarns. |

Käyttämäni langat on Novitan 7:ää veljestä ja muita samankaltaisia
jämälankoja. Puikot 3.5 mm. Lapasten ohje ja sukkien ohje löytyvät molemmat suomeksi Lankavan sivuilta. The frog mittens and fox socks are both modifications of patterns by Finnish yarn producer and yarn shop Lankava. Both pattens seem to be available only in Finnish, but links to mittens and socks are here, as a knitter with some experience could adapt these based on the pictures. I used 3.5 mm needles and scrap yarns. |

| Nämä lahjatossut on neulottu Ronja Hakalehdon Talvikki-ohjeella, joka on julkaistu Arabia x Novita sukkalehdessä, jonka mallisto on muokattu Arabian posliiniastioista ja purnukoista neulekaavioiksi ja ohjeiksi. Posliini-alkuperän vuoksi tässä on myös mummojen fiinejä kahvikuppeja ja lautasia sekä lapsena saamani kahvikuppisetti nukenkalustosta. Alla rokokoo-aiheinen opetustaulu kesätorilta. Klassinen väritys tossuissa on tummansinistä Madame Tricot Paris'n Cashmere Gold -lankaa sekä vaaleita Novitan Nalle-sukkalankoja. Puikot 3.25 mm. These slippers are made as a gift and are knitted with Talvikki pattern by Ronja Hakalehto. I used sock yarns and 3.25 mm needles. The flowers are duplicate stitched after knitting up the slippers. The pattern was published in Novita magazine that had classic porcelain tableware from Finland as its theme. The cups around the slippers are mostly from both of my grandmas, except the tiny cup and saucer were a gift I got as a kid. The rococo scene in the background is a thrifted thing. |

The hat's a gift, but modeled here to give a better idea of how it looks like when worn. The sweater is a diy make from last year. |

| Jouluna olisi mukava pukea päälleen jokin juhlava neule. Sormet syyhyävät uusien neuleprojektien pariin, mutta jo pari vuotta kesken ollut Kathleen Sperlingin Tracery-neuleliivi sopisi myös joulukirkkoneuleeksi. Toki useita muitakin vaihtoehtoja on, sillä mahtavia neuleohjeita on niin paljon. Ugly Christmas sweaters come around every year, and I appreciate a funny and kitschy sweater, but also like clothes that can be worn for more than about month a year. A Christmas sweater for my own use doesn't need to be particularly holiday-themed, but something nice, elevated and bit fancy. I like to plan and start new projects, but I also have some works-in-progress that would be suitable to wear around holiday season. This modification of the Tracery vest by Kathleen Sperling has been on my needles for couple of years and would be nice to finish and wear finally. |

This full length knit dress called Lina Marie's Dress by Bente Presterud from the book Knit Like a Norwegian would be fabulous, but would also take a forever to knit. I have been pondering learning to use a knitting machine, which my mom for example has rented at some point from a Finnish craft association, where you can take courses in its use, and book a machine and time for knitting. |

Bouquet sweater by Junko Okamoto is knitted from worsted-weight yarn, and thus would be a fairly speedy knit. With fancy yarns it would make a nice Christmas sweater that can be worn after the holiday season too. |

This beanie with embroidered snowflakes is knitted with the Canaan Hat pattern that is by Lisa Richardson for Rowan. I used scrap yarns, and marled blues and greys together for the hat body.
