I had planned sewing some dungarees, but considering the material cost of the fabric, I thought this was a find. Gingham has quite girly aura, but it's also used in sturdy picnic blankets or restaurant tablecloths. And thanks to new Barbie film, girly gingham is hip right now. I wasn't a Barbie girl, as my parents wouldn't buy me many plastic toys, but I got one as a gift from my mom's German pen pal. Contrary to Barbie figure, my style ideals were formed, and possibly damaged by classic Hollywood films and fashion magazines read as a teenager. |
