Henkselit uuteen maaliin / Braces renewed

Kaapin perältä löytyi kahdet henkselit lapsuusvuosilta, mutta niiden neonvärit eivät oikein sovi nykyiseen vaatekaappiini. Värjäsin siis ne ja vähän muutakin tummiksi. Tulos on käsintehdyn näköinen, mutta se ei haittaa. Alle kolmen euron väripötköllä sai ihan kohtuullisen uudistuksen henkseleihin. Marimekon raitapaita euron löytö kierrätyskeskuksesta.
I found two pairs of old braces from the back of my closet. They were neon colour and to match my current more earthy closet, I dyed them dark. Or the method with this 3 euro paint was more of hand painting, so result looks quite handmade and artsy, or uneven in other words. But the braces are wearable again. The Marimekko shirt was on sale for one euro in a recycling center.

Kukonaskel / Houndstooth tweed

Isotädin kukonaskelkuvioinen tweedliivi on luultavasti 1980-luvulta tai sitä vanhempaa vuosikertaa. Kokonaisuuteen kuulunut hame on kadonnut aikojen saatossa. Nämä shortsit on oma ompelus.
The vest with houndstooth pattern is my great aunt's old and originates from the 1980s or time before that. It came with a matching skirt, but the skirt has gotten lost. In this case it is worn with shorts, that I´ve sewn a month ago.

Tätihame / Auntie skirt

Isotädin vanha hame on luultavasti 1970-luvulta. Paita on Monkista ja sandaalit outlet-ostos noin kympillä.
The skirt is from my great aunt and propably homemade in the 70s. Shirt is from Monki and sandals from an outlet for a tenner.

Perintömekko / Great aunt's dress

Tämä mekko on isotädin vanha ja luultavasti 1970-luvulta. Käytin sitä paljon ja pesukonekäynnit haperruttivat materiaaliia niin paljon, että nyt olet paikkaillut sitä.
This dress is from my great aunt and propably from the 1970s. I used to wear it a lot, but all the washing made it fragile and I had to do some repair and cut down the use.
