Mallin nimi on Drífa. Käytin näihin Taito Pirkanmaan ohutta Pirkkalankaa ja 2 mm puikkoja. On my armchair trip around the World in mittens I have now reached the knitting traditions of Iceland. I came across a book by Gudrun Hannele that is called in its original language Ìslenskir vettlingar and seems to have been translated into English as Icelandic Mittens. I picked the pattern Drífa from the book that is based on a museum collection piece from 1920s and made a pair. I used yarn called Ohut Pirkkalanka by Finnish Taito Pirkanmaa that is a classic 2-ply wool yarn suitable for vintage inspired projects. Knitting needles were 2 mm. |
Villapaita on on omatekoinen ja villahame on tuunattu kirppislöytö. The sweater is a modification of Arboreal pattern and the woolly vintage skirt is a modified 2nd hand find. |
