| Sain toiveen kesähatusta ja kirjastossa käsityölehtiä noin vartin selailtuani vastaan tuli lierihattuohje Kotiliesi Käsityö -lehdessä 8/2019. Kankaat löytyivät paikallisen tekstiiliyrityksen jämälaarista ja nämä pikkupalat maksoivat noin euron. Niitä jopa jäi sen verran, että toiseenkin hattuun riittäisi materiaalia. Toki lyhyehköjä kangaspaloja piti taiteilla yhteen niin, että langansuunnat on vähän sinne tänne. Mutta kesähattu syntyi kaavan leikkuusta valmiiksi ompeluun noin kolmessa tunnissa. I got a request for a summer hat. I found a bucket hat pattern in library magazine, and the fabrics were found from small local textile shop that has off-cut section. I paid about one euro for the small fabric pieces that actually are enough for a second hat. There weren't long enough stretches of fabric for all brim pieces, so I had to piece some together, and grain is all over the place for the expert eye, and some puckering might be brought up if this was participating to the Sewing Bee, which is my fantasy while sewing. I may also play some Sewing Bee or Project Runway episodes on the background while I sew. But I'm no expert sewist, though the recipient was happy with the bucket hat, which is the most important thing. |
